The CNV Foundation
awards scholarships to young female scientists with children. With this financial support, they can pay for anything that alleviates their work load, such as additional childcare or household assistance, and that gives them more time to pursue their research.
Balancing family and career is a challenge for everyone. However, despite gradual societal changes, young mothers at German research institutions are still more likely than men to put their careers on hold. The CNV Foundation takes a very pragmatic approach to this issue: by providing monthly financial support for household assistance, additional childcare or other support measures. The time gained enables talented female scientists to continue working at a high scientific level and, despite the double burden, to achieve their career goal of becoming independent researchers.
Applications can be submitted from September 1st to November 30th each year.
